The
school uniform is determined by the Governing Body and is reviewed from time
to time. The following summarises the current policy. Parents must ensure that
children attending the school wear the correct uniform. Please note that
school ties are sold by the school secretary. Other items of uniform can
readily be purchased in local shops. Girls
Winter Uniform The basic winter uniform consists of a navy blue pinafore or skirt with plain, pale blue blouse and school tie and navy blue V-neck jumper or cardigan. Ties must be worn in Autumn and Spring terms. White or navy blue socks and dark shoes (not trainers, boots, ankle boots or high heels) must be worn. Navy blue tights (not sheer) may be worn instead of socks; both tights and socks must not be worn together. In severe weather, pupils may wear boots or Wellingtons to school, but they must bring their normal shoes and wear them indoors. Skirts should not be inordinately short; the headteacher has discretion regarding what is acceptable. Girls
Summer Uniform The
basic summer uniform consists of a blue and white small-checked (i.e. gingham,
not striped) short-sleeved dress, a navy blue V-neck jumper or cardigan. White
socks and dark shoes must be worn. Boys

Kit During
the term children should keep P.E. kit in school (a drawstring bag containing
plimsolls, T-shirt and shorts). A pupil’s T-shirt must be plain and in his or
her house colour. P.E. shorts must be navy blue. Trainers may be used for
outdoor activities. N.B. Trainers are only acceptable for outdoor P.E. lessons.
They must not be worn as an alternative to dark shoes. Makeup Makeup
of any kind is prohibited. (Sun
creams, ointments and the like should be clear.) Jewellery Items
of jewellery constitute dangerous hazards on occasions, especially in P.E.
lessons. Jewellery should not be worn at school. Children who have had ears
pierced for earrings may wear studs. Marking
of School Clothing Whilst
every effort is made to prevent children from losing items of clothing and
sports equipment, the school cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage.
Please ensure that all items of children’s clothing are clearly marked with
their name so that all items found can easily be returned to their owners. |
